These are awesome as a coffee cake for breakfast.
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 cup cranberries, whole or chopped
1 cup diced, peeled apple
1 cup chopped walnuts
Combine ingredients in order listed. Place in greased 9x13 or 10x15 pan. Top with a mixture of 2 T. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes depending on which is used. They are done when the top looks set and dry.
These sound great! I've copied the recipe to my computer and will definitely be trying it out with the kiddoes for "cooking math".
ReplyDeleteWe always make the "Cranberry Thanksgiving" bread, but this sounds even yummier!
What is "Cranberry Thanksgiving" bread? Is that a recipe from the book? Believe or not, we haven't read any of the Cranberry "Holiday" books. I'll be adding more cranberry recipes until Thanksgiving, then I'll switch over to our favorite Christmas cookies.
