Bye, Bye Vacation
After what seems like a month of vacation, we are finally getting back to the school thing in a big way. Grace has been reading more difficult picture books, for example, Two Bad Ants. The sentence structure and vocabulary are more difficult, resulting in an unhappy reading experience. We picked out books from our personal library for her to read the rest of the week. We had to compromise a bit; she picked out two and I picked out two. She still leans toward Frog and Toad style books with simple sentence structure. I'm encouraging her to expand her reading to other types of literature and I have to say she is not taking it too well. Lee is diving head first into telling time and loving it. He has a birthday coming up in 11 days. He'll be seven and receiving a BB gun. It's a family tradition that at seven if you've proven to be responsible and mature you get a BB gun. I can't wait to give it to him. Lou has been playing tons of horses and dancing. She will be in her first recital in May and they are already practicing their routines. She will be dancing to Pink Panther and Purple People Eater. Ray (Jack Jack) has been showing us who is boss by screaming his way through the day. We can't seem to get him to stop. Lord help us all! We had corn dogs for supper (I know, not healthy) and he held onto the corn dog side and used the stick as a means to get ketchup to his mouth. That's what he had for supper.....one bite of corn dog and lots of ketchup.
